Company Overview

Hyundai Oilbank, established in 1964, was the first private petroleum refining company in South Korea. Since then, we have consistently supplied petroleum products, fostering growth and innovation in the industry.

Past

In 1988, the company introduced heavy-oil cracking facilities in South Korea, which enhanced its petroleum refining technology. By 2011, the second HOU facility was completed, boasting the most efficient refining capacity in the country. The company diversified into a general energy company, initiating its second BTX business, lubricants business, MX business, and more.

Present

Hyundai-Shell Base Oil plant was built in 2012 and can produce 650,000 MT of Base oil annually. We  have a Lubricants laboratory in Yong-in, Kyeongki-do, South Korea, and offer a wide range of lubricants, including fuel additives (XTeer Alpha) and Urea solution (Pronox), catering to the automotive and industrial lubricants market as well as the aftermarket applications market.

Future

Hyundai XTeer, launched as the Lubricants business headquarters in 2020, is on a growth trajectory, preparing for a significant leap by 2025, encapsulated in the company’s Hyundai XTeer Vision 2025. Our Journey

2022

January

Began operations at the HPC (Heavy feed Petrochemical Complex) Plant.

2021

April

Achieved approval for Hyundai Motors genuine engine oil (Gasoline 0W20) and started supplying it.

2020

November

Launched as the Lubricants Business Headquarter.

September

Completed the revamp of the Lube plant in Daesan.

May

Launched API SP/ILSAC GF-6 grade engine oil.

2019

October

Commenced manufacturing of Marine Lubricants.

September

Initiated the revamp of the Lube plant in Daesan.

2018

October

Completed the construction of the Lube plant in Daesan.

March

Increased the production capacity of the Process Oil Manufacturing line in the Daesan plant.

2017

October

Installed an engine dynamometer in the Lubricants laboratory.
